Two-Faced Como

Hardly any town felt the consequences of the Swiss asylum policy as hard as the small city Como. During the summer of 2016 almost 1’000 refugees arrived at this noble border town in northern Italy per day. I tried to capture the contrast between the ‘dolce vita’ and the ‘waiting, hoping and worrying’ which took place right next to each other. The gap between these two facets was so big that it was shockingly easy for me to capture that contrast.
